Overview - Oh My Grad

The school established by Wu Fung and Helena Law is a low requirement, low tuition institution that has quietly cultivated teachers. Faced with an academic fraud scandal and financial crisis, they urgently call on their sons, Roger Kwok and Bob Lam, to save the school. Roger serves as the school's principal, while Bob serves as a member of the school council, but the brothers' philosophies towards education are polar opposites. To avoid adding to the mess, they hire public relations specialist Ada Choi to fix the situation. Roger, who lacks managerial experience, is unhappy with Ada's profit-oriented methods. But not only does Ada ignore him, she gets stronger as she goes, as she is directed by the school management committee to help wealthy heir Babyjohn Choi graduate. However, Babyjohn does not care about studying and instead, becomes involved in a love triangle with Thai-Chinese student Eliza Sam and mahjong expert Mag Lam. Meanwhile, Mag's arch-nemeses, May Chan and Momo Wu, spread rumours that Mag is in a May-December relationship with fellow classmate Ram Chiang. In addition, there is the gangster Louis Cheung and the secretive Wong Cho Lam. The school is finally forced to the brink by these extraordinary students...

Wong Cho Lam and Leanne Li @ Toronto

Wong Cho Lam and Leanne Li were in Toronto for their <老表你信主未? 音樂生命分享會> tour. I was able to see them on two consecutive nights.

On the first night, I was seated quite far from the stage, so I didn't get that many good pictures.

On the second night, I had a much better vantage point.

After spending years travelling in foreign countries, Roger Kwok finally returns to Hong Kong because of his father Chung King-fai's illness. Over the years, he and his neighbours witness the changes taking place in Hong Kong. Fighting for workers' rights, Roger has battled against wealthy heir Wong Cho Lam for many years. The fence-sitting politician Mimi Chu tries to take advantage of the situation for her own benefit, but her previous romance with a wealthy businessman is exposed. Joey Meng is Roger's first love, but her mother arranges for her to date Bob Lam instead. Roger's sister (Ivana Wong) hits many dead ends as she pursues her dream of becoming a singer. Meanwhile, her boyfriend (Louis Cheung) is willing to become involved with rich women to gain fame and money... Each person's life is a reflection of our own experiences. Regardless of wealth or political background, each family has their own problems. But for their livelihood, career, dream or love, they carry on with the undefeatable Hong Kong spirit!

Wong Cho Lam has tasted many delicacies since he was young. He can easily distinguish between good and bad dishes. Unfortunately, his family’s financial woes have left him and his servant Jack Wu homeless. They resort to selling buns for a living. Consequently, they meet a street performer (Joey Meng), the city’s most beautiful lady (Nancy Wu) and a young chef (Stephanie Ho). By chance, Cho Lam also comes across the 4th Imperial Prince (Ben Wong), whom he instantly gets along with.

Cho Lam is invited to be a chef in the palace, where he encounters his greatest rival (Bob Lam). He is unexpectedly brought into the royal succession battle started by the 8th Imperial Prince (Louis Cheung). Cho Lam turns out to be Ben's lucky star, helping Ben defeat Louis time and time again. However, an accidental marriage contract quickly changes his circumstances...

As they interact more frequently, he discovers her adorable side and his impression of her slowly changes. At the same time, Yeon learns about a secret between Linda and her boyfriend.

Overview - Inbound Troubles

Roger Kwok has always dreamed of opening up a travel agency with his girlfriend, Angela Tong. Unfortunately, they fell into a scam and accumulated huge debts, driving them into bankruptcy. Roger hopes to peacefully pass by the last few months of bankruptcy, then get married with Angela and start anew. He is hit hard when he discovers that Angela has hooked with her pal Bob Lam. Things change when he meets a newly-immigrated social worker (Joey Meng), his cousin (Wong Cho Lam) who came from Mainland aspiring to be a singer and an old-time entertainer (Mimi Chu). In addition, his sister (Ivana Wong) returns from Taiwan with a lie that she has completed her Masters degree. All these events combine with the cultural differences between Mainland and Hong Kong to produce a comedic family drama and make Roger finally understand that his ultimate life goal is…

Comment: Some new faces and Wong Cho Lam's first time as scriptwriter. But the storyline isn't very appealing, especially since I (living in Canada) can't relate to the Hong Kong-Mainland issues. Probably a skip for me...
