Overview - Flying Tiger II

A mysterious organization is conducting criminal activity in Hong Kong, putting the city's safety at imminent risk. Under the orders of the Chief Executive, Special Duties Unit (SDU) leader Michael Miu forms a special task force with handpicked elite police officers. The members include operations leader Bosco Wong, investigation leader Ron Ng, intelligence officers Kenneth Ma and Jacky Cai, and Jennifer Yu from the Identification Bureau. Limelight Years Theme Song

Liza Wang revealed that TVB invited Anthony Lun to specially compose three songs for Limelight Years.

The theme song is entitled "Gorgeous Turnaround" (華麗轉身).


The ending theme song is called "Galaxy" (銀河).


The third song is "Flashing Appearance" (閃爍登場).


The English sub-theme song is called "Here For You", sung by Noella Choi.


Jonathan Wong wrote and sang "Haven", the English version of the Limelight Years theme song.

Overview - Limelight Years

Liza Wang, the pop queen of her generation, has been through two marriages and has a son and two daughters. After recovering from a serious illness, she realizes that she is lonely behind the limelight. Reflecting on her life, she musters up the courage to travel to Taiwan to repair the relationship with her eldest daughter. In Taiwan, she meets the photographer Damian Lau, who is there to fulfill his late wife Michelle Yim's wish of returning home. When the ordinary meets the extraordinary, they develop a mutually supportive bond. Liza is inspired by Damian to hold a farewell concert for her family and friends. Despite the cold response from her younger daughter, Eliza Sam, Liza actively prepares for her concert. She hires a new assistant (Linda Chung) and creative director (Alex Fong). The two young people often quarrel because of a prior feud, but slowly develop feelings for each other during the process of preparing for the concert. Just as Alex is putting together a special issue for Liza, he learns about a scandal that she has hid for many years. At the same time, Linda discovers Liza's past connection with her uncle, while Damian suddenly experiences hallucinations... A little overdue, but here's the post about my time in Hong Kong!

A Good Heart Goes Haywire Location Filming

I stumbled upon another TVB filming session. I couldn't get the name of the drama from any of the production people, but I suspect they were shooting for A Good Heart Goes Haywire since the actors I saw are all in that series.

There was no dialogue throughout the scene. From my guesstimation, Jack Wu and Benz Hui are following/spying on the light blue shirt guy (any help here?), who was walking two dogs. This would make sense since Benz plays a police officer in the series.

Also saw Sammy Shum in the TVB van, but couldn't snap a picture of him.

Opening Day of Racing Season

I was at the opening day of the racing season when I spotted Eric Tsang at the race course. He and Nat Chan are well-known horse-owners in the entertainment industry. Eric's horse finished first in one of the races, so he was taking pictures with the horse and jockey at the podium. Only managed to get picture of him in the crowd. Can you spot him? Divas in Distress Promotional Event

I was shopping and what do you know? There was a promotional event for Divas in Distress at that mall! Most of the cast was there, minus Gigi Wong, who apparently was in Canada at that time. The event started with the child actor "Michel" playing the piano along with someone singing the theme song. Then all the actors came out for games. The first game was to decorate a lantern (in anticipation of the Mid-Autumn Festival), with Liza Wang being the judge. Him and Mandy's team won.

For the second game, each of the couples were called up: Him/Mandy, Chin Ka Lok/Eliza, So Gei/Lo Lo. The ladies had to throw balls at the guys who were holding big pink hearts. The objective is to get as many of the balls to stick on the heart as possible. Him and Mandy won again. They seem to have so much chemistry even when playing games.

The final segment featured a performance of the English songs used in the drama. Him and Mandy did a little dance during their song.

Comment: This is not a sequel of the first A Chip Off the Old Block. It is merely playing on the name of the original. A mainly veteran cast with some of the younger generation (Him Law, Mandy Wong). The synopsis reminds me of War of the in Laws, with Liza as the unreasonable mother-in-law. Why is she always given these bratty roles nowadays? I’d like to see Liza reprise the classy professional roles like in When Rules Turn Loose or A Matter of Customs. Gigi will likely be equally unforgiving in this drama, similar to the first A Chip Off the Old Block. This sounds like a delight to the housewife population, but a source of endless frustration for me. On the bright side, I can focus on the new school year…
